I had a thought:  We should keep a running tally of Rohmerisms.  (I know, this means going back.  But maybe not.)  Number and type of useless illustrations and maps.  (Why, there's London! Right there in England!)  Uses of the phrase "as you know."  Number of meetings, times number of participants; estimated amount of danish consumed based on .8 danishes per person.  Typos.  Pages before first mention of natural gas, islands in arctic Canada that might contain same.  Speaking parts for women, total number of words spoken by women, descriptions of woman as either "pretty" or "little."

I don't want to panic anyone, but as you know, two books a month, we're never going to reach our goal.  He said.  The atmosphere was tense.

The atmosphere is tense… and is bound to become more so this week as I race the clock on a couple of projects. Ah, hell, we can all pick up the pace, can't we? How about committing to nail Exodus/UK next Sunday? Shouldn't be a problem, right? It's a pretty slim novel with blank pages and all sorts of maps and stuff. Look, aren't those the same drawings of the Hercules that bulked up Exxoneration?

I do like the idea of tallying Rohmerisms. Seems to me that someone who has the first two books on a Kindle could do this pretty easily. Just saying'.

I suggest we add fatalities into the mix. If memory serves:

    Ultimatum: 1
    Exxoneration: 200 (approx.)

  2. Hey - what happened to my comment? I posted it earlier today and now it's gone!

Oh well - Basically said "Rohmerisms, yeah!' and "we're not really behind - we'll only know that if we aren't doing well by June or so".

Now - let's see if this posts.
