Thirty years ago – nothing in Rohmer time, but the distance between the death of George Bernard Shaw and the birth of Kim Kardashian, between Nurmberg and Woodstock – I was goofing off through the Labor Day three-day-novel writing contest with Brian Busby.  Stanley Whyte was in and out.

A lifetime.

And here I am, goofing off again.


  1. A quick search tells me that it is now in its 37th year.

    So I'm guessing there's always next Labour Day.

  2. To think I'd only read four Rohmers back then.

    So innocent.
