We seem to have run aground ourselves, here at Reading Richard Rohmer.  The spirit is willing, the bookstores are weak.  I'm ready to give up on ever seeing a copy of this book. I propose that we skip Raleigh on the Rocks and move on to Golden Phoenix.

Like the Marines in Korea, we are not retreating, merely advancing in another direction.

  1. I'll second that - seeing as how I'm closing in on the second month since I ordered my copy and it hasn't shown yet/

    1. Maybe if you'd asked for a review copy. You know, instead of giving Creative Publishing your money.

  2. Golden Phoenix, then? I'm an expatriate living in a country with Trumpmania... I need to read about some deals!

    1. Sure. Why not. Gotta know, though, did you order Raleigh on the Rocks, Chris? If so, how long have you been waiting?

Me? I borrowed it as an interlibrary loan, read it, and returned it back in June. As I'm discovering, it's not exactly memorable. Just doesn't stay with you like the invaluable lessons learned in How to Write a Be$t $eller.

  3. I never ordered it, it seemed like such a longshot ever getting it. I kept waiting for a copy to show up on some other site I order things from. I think I secretly thought I was going to read someone else's copy at their house in July, before my Canada swing failed. And now it's -- holy cow -- September.
Brian, we should swing by the campus center and get our new pocket calendars. I wonder what color they'll be this year?

    1. We should get onto that. It'll take awhile to write down all those names and phone numbers from the old one.

  4. Stan, so we don't forget -- make yourself a note and leave it in the center of your bed with your keys on it.
