I can't speak for literature in other languages, but English words have never been arranged to more soporific effect than the first 20 pages of Balls!
And its not "good" sleepy either, like Norah Jones music. It's like Scientology jargon or a carbon monoxide leak. Something bad is happening to your brain and by the time you realize it, it's too late.
