Hustler has been putting out these porno parodies of movies and TV shows for a couple of years -- NOT M*A*S*H XXX, This Ain't Nurse Jackie... things like that.  I watched one, purely for professional reasons, with their "Sarah (Nailin') Palin" on "Letterman" with "Obama."  It was dispiriting, because comedy is dispiriting.

Wait, that's not true.  I found a copy of Screw on the street in New York in 1989 that had a parody ad for Working Girl called Jerking Girl, starring Sickhorny Beaver, and that's, seriously, one of the jokes that's brought me the most pleasure in my life.

A long way to say I'll be finished with Caged Eagle by the end of the day and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.  It's everything I love in Rohmer, like a recurring dream, plus the hero, Gator the Unstoppable Sex Machine, getting laid -- in wartime! -- every 12 to 24 hours.

This Ain't Patton's Gap XXX.

Easily my favorite Rohmer so far -- but I'm only on page 150.

  1. Jerking Girl starring Sickhorny Beaver inspires. I'm going to start work on financing Sexxxoneration and Periscope Head.

    Oh, yeah, and Balls!

  2. And I was with you reading that Screw on a visit to NYC. Good memories - although everytime I see poor Signourney Weaver being interviewed I can't help but thinking "ahh - it's Sickhorny!".

Thank you for that, Al Goldstein.

Brian - those are good titles, but what do we do with Patton's Gap? Or are we (ew) already there as is?

  3. Stan, we were somewhere in midtown, right? What was the occasion? My memories of everything between 1943 and 1995 are a blur.
